Three Pink Things I Am Obsessed With For October

If you haven’t been able to tell, I am obsessed with PINK! It’s my absolute favorite color, because it’s the best color! Duh! Needless to say I love October because it all about two of my favorite things! Boobies and Pink!!

Yes, I know there are about 1,000,000 other ways to support Breast Cancer Research and Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about soooooo much more then just everything be recolored to the best color in the world. Check out the National Breast Cancer Foundation for more ideas and ways to help! Having said that I’m still gonna look for all of the super awesome Pink stuff this month that donates money to Breast Cancer Foundations!!

Summer Cocktails – Paleo and Organic

I like to get my relax on and enjoy a few adult bevies by the pool every now and then. One thing I’ve noticed recently is that once you start putting good stuff in your body, you feel really bad when you put in bad stuff. I’m not talking about emotionally, although that can happen too, but I’m talking about physically.

Now and days I feel like I can’t drink like I did when I was younger – maybe it’s just that I am just getting older better with age or maybe it’s because I don’t eat an entire pizza before drinking anymore. Whatever the reason, I wanted to find a way to enjoy a mixed drink and not get the sugar/alcohol shakes in the morning. So I came across two awesome summer mixers that are super tasty, low in calories, organic, Paleo, gluten free, vegan and just overall amazing. Over the weekend I tested out these two new cocktails!!


Jalagreeno 2.0 Paleo-ish Margarita

What you need:

Jalagreeno 2.0 from Project Juice
100% Aqave Tequlia – I used Camarena

Ok, before anyone flips out on me about Paleo stuff, I understand that there is some debate on weather or not Tequila is Paleo. It’s derived from plants with no added sugars (as long as it is 100% Agave), gluten free and low-carb. So for all intents and purposes, if I’m Paleo and am going to drink, this is my jam.

I like my Margs frozen but for health reasons I do not own a margarita machine, but I do own an ice tray. I froze a full tray of Jalagreeno 2.0 and got out my magic bullet (best purchase of my life). 4 mixer cubes and 1.5 oz of Tequila is perfect for a single serving and easy enough to make again when you are ready for number two.


Organic Watermelon Berry Martini 

What you need:

Watermelon Berry mixer from Project Juice
Organic vodka – I love Prairie Vodka

This is possibly the easiest drink to make ever. Pour 2 oz of Vodka and 2 oz of Watermelon Berry in shaker with Ice. Shake it up and pour. The hard part is drinking more then two and still being able to walk.

The good news is that you can make a ton of drinks with these bottles of mixer. Bad news, you have to drink it all with in 24 hours of opening the bottle because there are no preservatives in them (hidden good news). Good news, you can freeze  whatever is left over. So there really is no bad news.


Please drink responsible and don’t drink and drive!

Foodie Friday – MealEnders

I love food, (LOVE IT!!!), but the struggle between staying healthy, eating for activity, keeping my butt from spilling out of my jeans and eating what I want is real!!! My biggest struggle is snacking and binge eating when I get home from work.

I generally have pretty good will power but when I am tired all of that goes out the widow. There is actually a chemical reason that this happens. When you are tired and sleep deprived (like most of us are these days) the levels of a little hormone called Ghrelin, that control hunger, go up and another guy called Peptide YY, that make you feel full, go down. This is basically telling your body that you are starving and never full. Great for hot dog eating competitions not so good for bikini season.


Over the past few weeks I’ve had the chance to try a brand spanking new product out of San Francisco that helps with this exact issue I’ve been struggling all my life!

What’s a MealEnder?

I’m so glad you asked. MealEnders are “Signaling Lozenges” designed to help you stop eating when you are not hungry and to help you end a meal when you know you should be done.

How does it work?

Remember that Peptide YY I was just talking about? The trouble with that guy is that once you start eating it takes 20 min for it to kick in and tell your body it’s full. This leaves a 20 min window to keep stuffing your face. (Do you know know how much Pizza I can put down in 20 min? A lot!) Weekend Wedding Planning, My Fit Foods and getting ready for my first post flu race

This weekend Jared and I are doing one of the best parts of wedding planning. Tasting the food! We are in Scottsdale, meeting with our possible caterers and stuffing our faces along the way. We also went to check out the Resort where all of our guests are going to be staying. Since or wedding theme is basically, Keeping it Classy, we decided to get our hotel block in the Talking Stick Casio in Scottsdale. Nothing says wedding like Black Jack, 80 year old women with oxygen tanks and Thunder Down Under!

In between stuffing our faces and winning big on the tables, we have found time to stay somewhat healthy and work out a little. After the gym today we were running errands and we drove past this place called My Fit Foods. So you know I had to try that!

Cilantro Lime Turkey, Sweet Teriyaki Chicken Wrap and Veggies in the Raw

Basically the deal is, it is pre-portioned meals that are made fresh, super health and don’t cost a fortune. I would say that there were about 60 different options split into breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Jared and I got two lunch meals, a snack box, cookie and a drink and it was only 22.00.


Some of the things I loved about My Fit Foods are:

1. 99% of there items were gluten free! Big Win!

2. There are big and small portions for most dishes. Great when trying to feed one little person and one giant.

3. Their staff was super helpful.

4. The food was delish!

SOLD! I’m going to try and find one in NorCal as soon as I get home!

Tomorrow, I am running my first face “post-flu race!” It is the Scottsdale Giant 9k so I should be fine but it’s going to be an adventure non the less. I still have a little cough which might be an issue but I’ll work though it.

When going to pick up my packet it was in the Baseball Expo for spring training. Jared actually just dropped me off so I could run in and get my bib. There was a huge festival and so many Giants fans and looked like so much fun I almost wanted to just stay and party but I remembered the man was waiting and he was my ride home.

If anyone is running the Scottsdale Giant Race tomorrow come and find me and we can take a selfie!!

Kaiser Permanente Half Marathon, Superbowl Sunday and Olives To Go

Super Bowl Sunday!! Whew, what a busy day!! I like to run a race before the big game because I know for a fact that I am going to get my grub on hardcore!!! This year, the same as last year, I ran the Kaiser Permanente Half Marathon in San Francisco.

Last year I wasn’t a huge fan of the race. It was really rainy and there were no medals at the end and I thought it was just so so. This year however, I think they really stepped up their game. The weather was really great too, I know they don’t have control over that but it does help in keeping me happy. Here are the things I loved about this race:

1. They send you your bib and timing tag. I’m all for a fun expo but having your stuff sent to you is super awesome and it keeps my Fiance sane by not taking up the whole weekend for a race.

2. Most of the race in in Golden Gate Park and the rest is along the beach.

3. There was chocolate milk at the end and that’s my favorite!

After the race I was ready to go to Grub Town!!! Although it wasn’t all just pigging out. This is what happens when you go to a Super Bowl Party with a Fitness Blogger!

Every touchdown!!!

Project Juice Run Club

I am soooooo excited about partnering up with my favorite Juice Bar for the new Project Juice Run Club on Wednesday nights, starting this Wednesday 1/7!! We will be starting from their mission location (790 Valencia Street San Francisco, CA 94110). Come join me for running, juice, selfies and plenty of laughs!!! Can’t wait to see you there!

Get Paid To Look Good – Pact App Review

Yeah I said it. No, I’m not trying to sell you something. It’s my newest favorite app that pays you to eat healthy and workout. No lie!! Seems too good to be true right? Here is the deal. The app is called Pact. There are three “Pacts” that you can make in the app. The first one is a workout pact. You decide how many days a week you are going to work out. The way you get credit for working out is one of three different ways. The first is by checking in to a gym in the app using GPS. You have be checked in to the gym for at least 30 min then check out when you are done. The next way is to use a activity tracker like Jawbone Up or an activity app like Map My Fitness and sync it up to Pact. The third way is a motion tracker built into the app.

I used the motion tracker in the app to do Bodyflow with this cutie patootie!

The next pact is a for tracking food. You have to download the app My Fitness Pal and track at least 1200 calories each day and three meals. With this pact you also have to select how many days you want to commit to. Side note, My Fitness Pal is how I found out that I can only eat as much food in one day as my Fiance if I run a marathon.

The last and my favorite is the Veggie pact. In this pact you pick a number of fruit and veggies servings that you want to eat during the week. To get credit for them you have to take a picture of your fruit or veg and then other users get to vote if it is a legit fruit or veg and if it is a full serving. You’ll quickly see that what some people think are veggies is a little crazy!

If you do all of your activities for the week you get paid dollaz!!!!! Heck yes!! you can get paid any where from .50 upward depending on how many activities you do and how many weeks you have been doing it for! Amazeballz right? OK, it’s not a lot of money but here is the kicker that is gonna keep you motivated. If you miss a day Dun dun dunnnnnnnnn……………… you have to pay!!!! What!?!?! You decide what you pay from 5.00 upward!!! So basically, if you miss a day you are paying the people that have kept their pact for the week. If there is one thing that will keep me motivated is the thought of losing money! To even start this you have to enter your credit card information.

Total to date! That’s enough for two Pumpkin Spice Lattes that I could try and pass off as fruit for this week!

I absolutely LOOOOOOVVVVEEEE this app! No lie Pact has kept me motivated when I didn’t want to workout at all. Even last week when I was recovering from my Marathon it got me out on the street for light jogs and walking, which helped me recover a lot faster!
